Georgian Cobblestone Old Cut Diamond Ring
A sweet Georgian cobblestone diamond ring. A cluster of assorted old cut diamonds have been set close together to make this sparkling piece. Likely a Victorian conversion of a Georgian piece of jewellery that was adapted into a ring. The head of the ring is made of silver and the band tests as 9ct gold.
Age: Circa 1830
Weight: 4.1 grams
Materials: 9ct gold. Silver head. Tested via xrf analysis. Worn stamp on the inside of the piece.
Size: UK P, US 7 1/2. Face of ring is 12mm in diameter.
Gemstones: Natural Diamonds. The diamonds are in closed back settings and therefore are difficult to grade. They have a slightly warmer colour and are free of any dark inclusions. Estimated at 0.90-1.10cts.
Condition: Nice clean condition. One diamond is slightly lower set but is secure in the setting. Wear to the underside of the ring from being worn alongside other rings. Likely a diamond button that was later added onto a gold band to make a ring. No chips to the diamonds.
