Gold Foiled Back Georgian Garnet Brooch

A beautiful Georgian foil backed garnet brooch. 

Circa 1830 this brooch is shaped like a pansy and is set with flat cut garnets. 

The pansy is a larger example and measures 2.2 x 2cm.

Later brooch fitting. Tests as 9ct gold. 

Nice clean condition. Some scratches and nibbles to garnets - please see photos. Later brooch fitting. Clasp hook is not gold.
