Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Lyre Pendant
A lovely early 19th century Lyre pendant set with a central foil backed rose cut diamond.
The rose cut diamond is surrounded by enamel and then a further 23 diamonds are set into the lyre.
The lyre is constructed of silver topped gold and is 3.6cm in length including the bail.
The central rose cut spans approximately 6mm in the mount and the total spread of diamonds is estimated to be 1.5 carats - please note rose cuts spread larger than modern cuts and therefore would have a smaller total carat weight than the spread suggests. The stones are in closed back settings and are difficult to estimate the weight of.
Condition: Overall nice clean condition. Age related marks to reverse of pendant and minor losses to the edge of the lower portion of enamel. No major chips or deep scratches to diamonds. The central diamond's foil has a slightly yellow tinge due to age. The bail is a later addition. The diamonds are very sparkly in real life. Please see pictures.
