Georgian Pinchbeck Long Chain 114cm
A Georgian Pinchbeck chain circa 1800.
114.2cm In length from end to end.
The chain is made up of links of embossed pinchbeck. Pinchbeck is a copper alloy which was invented in the 18th century to imitate gold.
The chain weighs 25.8g.
Original working clasp.
Links are approximately 2mm wide.
Nice clean condition. Delicate links so I would advice against using this chain to hold heavy charms or pendants. Some links are slightly different shades and there is evidence of repair to some links.
