Edwardian Moonstone Pendant
A striking moonstone pendant dating to circa 1910.
The large pear shaped moonstone is suspended from a pearl bar which is designed as a row of flowers.
The whole pendant is 4.6cm in length. The moonstone is 1.7cm in length.
The mount of the moonstone tests as 18ct gold, whilst the pearl bar and bail test as 9ct gold.
The moonstone has natural inclusions and displays adularescene (schiller).
Nice clean condition. The different gold carats of the bar and mount suggest that this piece has been made up out of separate components. The moonstone has some internal ‘centipede’ inclusions which are visible from certain angles.
