9ct Gold Opal Solitaire Ring

A simple opal solitaire ring. The small opal is mounted in a beautiful collet setting and set on a 9ct gold band. I believe the opal and collet is from an older piece of jewellery that was converted in the early 20th century. The opal has a milky colour with some blue and yellow flashes. 

Age: Opal circa 1880, ring circa 1920

Weight: 1.4 grams 

Materials: 9ct gold. 9ct stamp and also tested as 9ct gold. 

Size: UK size F, US size 3. Opal is 6x4mm

Gemstones: Natural opal. 

Condition: Very good clean condition. Age-related patina and surface marks. Surface wear to the opal.
