A wonderful example of a snake ring. Handmade in rich yellow 18ct gold this ring depicts two snakes in the ouroboros position - representing eternal life.
I wore this ring to Portobello market where several dealers looked it over - the estimates in age ranged from Victorian to Art Nouveau. The ring has been acid tested gold and weighs almost 20 grams. This ring is very eye catching and everyone who sees it asks about it and I've received nothing but complements on it.
The ring doesn't look English in design and could possibly be French or oriental based on the flat profiles of the snakes.

The four coils span 13mm in width.
Nice condition. One eye is missing a gold blob, and the ring is covered in age related nicks and marks. These add to the character in my opinion, but could be polished out. Slightly off round shape.
I noticed in the pics there is a tiny piece of blutac inside the ring from where I was staging the ring for the pics - this has been removed!
