Georgian Paste Bow Brooch

A magnificent Georgian brooch in the shape of a bow.

Circa 1820 this brooch is set with paste stones and a glass bead drop which imitates a pearl.

There is a high level of attention to detail in this piece - rose cut pastes are set on the pearl cup, imitating the highest quality jewellery of the period.

The brooch is constructed from silver with a gold wash back.

4.7cm wide and 5.2cm tall.

Nice clean condition - some discolouration and colour change to some of the pastes. Light abrasion to a couple of stones and some light scratches to the “pearl”. There are two small loops from which two further “pearls” would have hung however these have not survived with the piece.
