Reserved Georgian Mourning Pendant 1793

A gorgeous Georgian Sepia Portrait Mourning Pendant dating to 1793.

The pendant depicts a female standing outdoors in front of a plinth.

The reverse of the pendant reads:

Mutual Love

Aged 16 RR BB(j?)

Oct 22 1793

The pendant is in nice overall condition. It was originally a brooch which has had a gold frame applied at a later date. The gold is high carat and is set with seed pearls. There are some small losses to the enamel blue and white border. There are some small pieces of wooden debris beneath the glazing - possibly from the top of the plinth which looks like there is some glue residue around the White 'orb'. The back of the pendant does have marks and scratches and the lettering is worn. No hallmarks but the frame tests as high carat gold. The original pendant is at least 9ct gold.
