A stunning early Victorian brooch with a mourning locket to the reverse.
The piece is engraved to the back ‘Given in rememberence of Mrs Mary Holmes died Jan...1842 ....1817.’
The reverse contains a glazed compartment containing white hair.
The Brooch is set with foil backed Amethysts and pearls in collet settings.
2.9cm in width and 2.7cm tall.
Testing as 14ct gold cased.
