A lovely Georgian Mourning ring set with a later nice faceted oval amethyst.
The band reads: Richd Gosse OB 21 June 1770 AET 67
UK ring size L 1/2
USA ring size 5 7/8
Amethyst is 11mm across.
Nice overall condition. The enamel and gold lettering on the band is slightly worn in places.
In my opinion the amethyst is a replacement stone.
Gold untested but likely to be 18ct - no hallmarks. Please note that the line inside the band is a reflection of the carved band - it is not a seam or cut in the gold.
