A striking opal and diamond bar brooch c.1880.
Stamped and tested as 15ct gold.
The natural opal surrounded by a stylised diamond encrusted halo with a further two old cut diamonds at each end of the brooch.
3.4cm in length. The central cluster is 1.7cm x 1.8cm
Nice clean condition. The opal has a nice colour play. There is a natural inclusion line across the centre of the opal but it’s not surface reaching. Some light nibbles to diamonds.
