15ct Gold Georgian Garnet and Pearl Ring

A beautiful Georgian garnet and split pearl ring c.1810.

The flat cut garnet glows beautifully and the detailed shoulders give this ring an ornate and eye catching look.

Unmarked but tested as 15ct gold.

The ring features a foil backed flat cut garnet in a crimped collet setting with a halo of split pearls around it. The shoulders are engraved with floral motifs and terminate to a reeded band. Closed back setting.

UK size K 1/2

US size 5 3/4

3.1g

The central pearl panel is approximately 13x12mm.

Beautiful clean condition. Evidence of sizing to the shank. The garnet is free from abrasion, some age related foxing to the foil beneath the garnet. Light wear to nacre of some pearls. Pearls are secure in settings. One pearl has a small chip and 3 pearls have small holes near the setting edge.

Due to the closed back setting and foil backed stone we recommend avoiding getting this ring wet.
