A matched pair of Victorian mourning lockets. The gentleman depicted within the lockets may have left a provision in his will for these lockets to be made and then handed out as keepsakes after his passing.
Crafted from 15ct gold and enamelled to the front with a gothic monogram.
Tested as 15ct gold.
Both contain the same image and hair work within.
15 grams each to give a total weight of 30 grams.
I believe the monogram is EAG.
Both lockets open left to right.
3.4x2.8cm excluding bail loop and jump ring.
Beautiful condition. Very light age related wear to the surfaces but free from any noticeable scratches or dents. It really is incredible these have survived together for so long. One photograph is more distressed than the other.
