11ct Gold Georgian Large Split Ring

A lovely gold split ring dating to the early 19th century.

This is a nice example in a larger size. A floral pattern is engraved on both sides.

Split rings would have been used like modern key rings to connect items together such a chains and fobs.

This example has a very tight closure that is in almost unused condition. 

This example has been acid tested and xrf tested as 11ct gold. 

The outer diameter is 2.9cm.

4.8 grams.

If you wanted to wear this as a ring it is UK size Z+1, US size 13.
